Ericsson's first Bluetooth and Wireless Application Protocol (WAP) phone,
the T36, is scheduled to be commercially available before year-end. The
T36, available in Mystic Yellow and Classic Blue colours, represents
the company's first totally wireless mobile phone model that allows
users to connect their phones with other mobile devices or peripherals,
minus the cables.

Two versions of the T36 will be produced. The T36m, and the T36mc which
features a Chinese interface that supports Chinese SMS messages, and
allows users to store up to a generous 2000 Chinese names in the Phone
Book. Like Ericsson's other T series phones, the T36 comes with a flip
top design.

With a tiny form factor, the T36 can be tucked away in your pocket or
bag and can be used with the Ericsson's Bluetooth Headset. Ericsson's
Bluetooth Headset integrates a built-in Bluetooth radio chip that acts
as a connector between the headset and the phone. What's more the T36
allows users to beam ring signals, business e-cards, as well as play
interactive games between phones.

Mobile professionals and frequent travelers will also be pleased to know
the T36 is also the first GSM triple band (900/1800/1900) phone from
Ericsson, which means it supports GSM networks in Europe, Asia Pacific
and the Americas where there is GSM frequency.

As with most mobile phones of the future, the T36 is WAP-friendly,
allowing access to information services over the Internet. In addition,
the phone supports High Speed Data (HSCSD), which enables users to send
and receive data as fast as a 28.8Kbps landline over the standard 9.6Kbps
connections currently supported by GSM networks.

For added convienience, the phone supports voice recognition, so next
time your T36 rings, or if you want to make a call, you can press a
key on the headset and use the voice recognition feature to answer or
initiate a call. Users can also navigate parts of the phone's the menu
system using voice commands, and record and store voice memos in the
phone's memory. The T36 also improves on keypad-based text input and
supports predictive text input software that lets you whip out short
messages and emails at a faster pace.

Utilizing advanced PIM (Personal Information Management) applications,
the T36 comes with several intelligent features. For example, the
phone alerts you when you've got mail and is the first mobile phone
from the company to incorporate Aircalender. Aircalendar allows your
phone calendar to receive real-time updates using open standard Wide
Area Network Synchronization. With the Ultra Slim Battery, users can
talk for up to 455 minutes and get up to 200 hours of standby time.
